Notes:
In honor of Women’s History Month, celebrated annually in March, the 2010 Women’s Lecture Series will begin on March 4, with a lecture on “Lesbian Ex-Lovers: The Really Long-term Relationships” by Esther Rothblum, PhD. The Women’s Lecture Series is a joint project of The San Diego LGBT Center and the Women’s Studies Department at San Diego State University. Lectures will take place March 4 and 18, and April 1 and 15; all lectures are free to attend, begin at 7pm and take place at The Center (3909 Centre St., Hillcrest). April 15 @7pm -- "Outlaws on the Playing Field: Women's Sexualities and Homophobia in Women's Sports"
Presented by Susan E. Cayleff, Ph.D.
This lecture will explore the ways in which lesbian and intersex female athletes are viewed by their teammates, the American public, the media, and ruling sports commissions. The athletes' resistance and difficulties are highlighted.
