The San Diego Women’s Chorus is a non-audition community-based chorus open to women of all sexual orientations, ages, ethnicities, and skill levels. Reading music is a plus, not a requirement. The members of SDWC are people with a strong sense of social conscience who work to entertain and educate the LGBT community and the San Diego community at large. The music of SDWC speaks to issues as diverse as human rights, love, world peace, religious freedom, environmental harmony, inclusion and cultural diversity. SDWC supports and affirms the music of women, and Lesbian and Gay composers and arrangers. Meets every week at the University Christian Church (3900 Cleveland Ave)

A love letter to musical theatre and to the joy of collaboration, [title of show] is a witty new musical written by two struggling writers about two struggling writers writing a witty new musical. A can’t miss for those who love Broadway!
[title of show] has music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and the book is by Hunter Bell. Directed by James Vasquez, with musical direction by Tim McKnight. The cast of four features Tony Houck, Heather Paton, Karson St. John and Tom Zohar. [title of show] is an official event of San Diego LGBT Pride.

Children’s Garden at Pride, Saturday, July 17 12-6pm & Sunday, July 18, 11-6pm
Calling all cowboys and cowgirls! Join Family Matters on Saturday, July 17th from 12 – 6 pm and Sunday, July 18th from 11am – 6 pm for a Wild West Weekend. Wear your finest Rainbow western gear to our Hootenanny at the San Diego Children’s Garden at Pride, held within the same great secure location, booth 138A, inside the Pride Festival, just south of the Juniper Street entrance. There is an entrance fee to the Pride Festival but there is no charge for entrance to the Children’s Garden. Avoid standing in line by purchasing your tickets in advance at www.sdpride.org. Enjoy entertainment for parents and kids from infants to preteens, including DJ Laura Jane, face painting, karaoke, carnival games, prizes, arts & crafts, story time and kids square dancing throughout the day. Snacks and cool drinks are provided in a family-only shaded oasis with tables, chairs, restrooms and a diaper changing station.
On Sunday, July 18th, the Hillcrest Farmers Market will be hosting a bubble bonanza. Come out and experiment with different bubble solutions and bubble makers to see how many and how big you can make your bubbles!
Occurring every Sunday from 9am-2pm, rain or shine, the Hillcrest Farmers Market currently consists of 110 vendors offering a wide variety of locally grown in-season fruit, produce and flowers. Many of the local California Farmers participating in the market grow their produce organically or with no pesticides. The market also hosts a large variety of prepared food and hot food items with an emphasis on international cuisine. Additionally, each week there are a large number of arts and crafts vendors participating as well as weekly entertainment performed by the 7th Day, Buskers, a local band.
